READ THE ARTISTS DESCRIPTION FIRST If you have no knowledge of :icony2805: or my personal characters in the universe, you will be very confused.
Intro: The Europa has arrived on Earth with the other ships, and ATOM is trying to convince the ship's eccentric autopilot to leave the ship and meet new people now that he's not needed on the bridge.

----

"It won't take long." the ATOM insisted, kneeling down on the bridge floor so he could be eye-level with the autopilot. "I won't even have to shut you off." He added, smiling pleasantly.

The white-and-blue autopilot shook his head, straight hair shifting about his face. "No thank you." He said softly, drawing his knees closer to his chest. The AP warily eyed the ATOM from underneath the bridge panel where he was huddled, for reasons unknown to the other android. It was not unusual however; the autopilot did it all the time.

"I think it would be good for you to leave the bridge autopilot." Atom explained gently, shifting his grip on an innocuous black object. It was a portable energy source, battery, he wanted to install on the autopilot: however Ethos was vehemently resisting, despite the fact it would really only take a few seconds to attach beneath his spoke assembly. The paranoid AP hated being touched, and had taken to avoiding him again.

"I don't want to." Ethos said flatly, shifting his bright gaze away from the golden haired ATOM.

Atom shifted to sit, cross-legged on the bridge floor. He was a patient android… to a point. Ethos seemed to have a particular knack for wearing his patience thin, though that was probably mostly in his programming: as the android in charge of the autopilot's maintenance and repair, he wasn't meant to take excuses from it.

"Are you sure? The other ships are very interesting." Atom asked softly; the android had recently been over to the Legacy, and he'd loved it. So many new faces…

"You could meet another autopilot." Atom continued when Ethos didn't offer a response. "The Legacy's autopilot is very nice." He could have talked to Lauto for hours, especially since the AP never shut up.

Ethos shook his head. The thought of meeting another autopilot truly frightened him; he'd always been the only one on the ship, and he'd never needed to contact another liner.

"Come now autopilot." Atom huffed, patience rapidly running out. "Or I will turn off the power coils in the floor and you will need this." He waved the battery in his hand to make his point. Pressuring the autopilot would only upset him, but it was the only method that actually got anything done. The Captain had long since given up pandering to the AP, and Atom was not about to try again.

"You can't do that." Ethos insisted softly, ruby gaze darting to the appropriate control panel… right above his head.
"Watch me." Atom said deviously, standing up to tap on the controls. Ethos glanced up to look, more curious if he'd actually do it than anything.

'Are you sure?' The flat, feminine voice of the Europa's AI chimed.

"Yup." Atom smirked.

'The autopilot will be disabled.'

Ethos stiffened.

"Yes I know."

'Confirmed.'

Atom felt the charge that constantly radiated from the bridge floor ebb, and then cut off completely. He could barely detect it to begin with; it was so small only the autopilot was affected by it, special capacitors in its back storing the energy to slowly feed power to its systems. With the coils off, the AP only had what residual energy was still trapped in the capacitors.

Atom knelt back down. "I'd guess about five minutes before you shut down and I just install this anyway." He said merrily, grinning a bit too smugly.

Ethos looked horrified, ruby eyes wide. "Europa, return power to the bridge floor." He squeaked, for all intents and purposes talking to the ceiling.

"No don't." Atom snapped before the inbuilt AI could respond.  Technically he could override an autopilot's order if the AP was not fit enough to be giving commands. …Close enough?

Apparently it was, since the ship's AI did nothing.

"ATOM!" Ethos wailed, finally grabbing the glass edge of the panel to pull himself up, standing at his full height which was almost two feet taller than the ATOM. He reached for the controls to fix the power settings, until ATOM snagged him by the back of the jacket.

"Oh no you don't." Atom grumbled, holding onto a fistful of the pristine fabric and yanking the AP away from the controls. An ATOM could overpower the autopilot any day, but right now it was ridiculously easy, Ethos was already sluggish from the lack of power, and unsteady on his feet.

"Let go! Let go of me!"  The autopilot whined, struggling feebly and trying in vain to grab at the controls.

"Oh stop it." Atom sighed, switching to keep hold of him by his belt with one finger; it really was that easy. He pulled up the AP's jacket, watchful he didn't put unnecessary pressure on the android's sensitive spokes.

Ethos squeaked as he snapped the battery into place, really it only took a few seconds as he'd said.
"There, see, that wasn't so bad."  Atom said softly, doubling his grip on the autopilot's belt as Ethos instantly tried to dive under the controls again once power was restored to his system.

"Fine now let go!" Ethos whined, flailing.

"Nope, we're going out." Atom grinned, dragging the taller android toward the elevator.
