Not Today

Contrail peered through the earthen greenery, barely hiding his bulk behind the fragile things, wings sticking up slightly. Barely visible through the foliage were two other mechs, Decepticons by the looks of them… and with a stifled gasp Contrail realized he was looking at Megatron himself. The warlord held his cannon aloft, pointing it at the other, smaller mech present.
The jet seemed to have walked in on some sort of internal squabble between the two Decepticons. He immediately considered leaving, slipping away while his enemies were distracted, but a desperate cry from the other ‘con rooted him to the spot.
“No master, PLEASE!” The tiny jet keened, and contrail immediately recognized the voice as belonging to Starscream, there was no mistaking it. This was not an uncommon event, then: Megatron tended to punish his second for anything and everything, and it would be best to get out of range before Megatron detected the Autobot…
But the Warlord didn’t even give the seeker the luxury of a response, taking a few lazy steps toward the smaller mech with his cannon still aimed directly at him. Starscream continued to plea and beg, speech deteriorating to stammers as he stumbled back, tripping over his own ridiculous pedes. It looked like he was already injured…
The lack of banter coupled with the gleam in the warlord’s optics sent a shiver through the autobot’s frame. Was he really going to kill Starscream this time?
For some reason, the thought of it didn’t sit well with the bomber jet. Sitting back and watching the ‘cons squabble with each other was one thing: letting Megatron extinguish a spark, even one of his officers, was quite another. And… part of him felt bad for the silver seeker, always taking the brunt of Megatron’s pent up frustration. It was really no small wonder he was always trying to seize the throne.
Starscream’s cries changed to a high pitched scream as he Megatron proceeded to fire, violet bolt seeming to travel in slow motion as suddenly Contrail leapt from his hiding place, grabbing the much smaller flyer around the waist and roughly yanking him out of the way.
The white jet didn’t stop, hitting the ground running with the seeker clutched protectively to his side. Starscream hung limply in the autobot’s hold, wings folded back, momentarily stunned by the sudden turn of events.
Behind them, Megatron howled, rapidly giving chase – but with a bright green flash and another jump, the bomber jet was gone, taking the former second with him.

Contrail Is my autobot OC. His bio: [link] He is supposed to be bigger than Starscream: in fact, much bigger. His alt mode is a Tupolev Tu-160 which is like six times bigger than an F-16.
I scaled him down quite a bit so he could fit into the autobot base and not be ridiculous.

Connie has a soft spot for smaller bots, flyers, and seekers. Actually he's pretty much a gentle giant and has a soft spot for everybody, but especially seekers. His mate was a seeker, whom joined the Decepticons and died in the early years of the war. Contrail actually didn't hear about it until much later, and it really hit him hard.

He really pities Starscream.
