MTT Adoptable try-out: Mercury

Update, 1/11/2013: Updated his info with more detail and of course his relationship with Gemi. The art here is old and... pretty bad (he looks pregnant wut) but I've decided to leave it for nostalgia and just make a new ref for him at some point. /end edit

Friends: Circuit, Karaoke (she's the hyperactive one and it's a bit of a one-sided friendship LOL) Anyone else is welcome to try and be his friend but he is quite shy.


Personality: Merc works in the reserve outside of Junction city. As a botanist, he heads up the effort to grow plants and foods that would have otherwise gone extinct in the harsh, polluted Earth outside the reserve.
He studies Human nutrition and how plants produce food the humans can eat: how to increase yields, improve taste, and nutrition. (so technically he studies Ethnobotany, how plants and humans interact)
His main focus is to quickly and efficiently grow enough food to feed everyone in the reserve. He's supposed to spend most of his time in the lab, but he'll often be found in the greenhouses, doing the dirty work with the plants himself. His lab coat is always dirty ;D
He doesn't have a lot of friends besides his co-workers, since he spends most of his time on the job. Some people tease him about liking plants more than MTTs. His apartment has a few plants that he is experimenting with, trying to get them to survive outside the reserve. Most of them are wilting or dead however....It's his ultimate goal to discover/ create a plant species that can grow well outside the reserve, in all the pollution, like the MTTs can (thrive).

Later after he meets Gemini he moves out of his lil apartment and in with Gemini and Circuit. (Much to Circuit's annoyance for a while) He brings quite a few of his (dying) plants with him ;D

History: Merc was born in Junction City, and was fascinated by the reserve outside early on. He snuck inside once as a child, but was quickly caught and thrown out.
That didn't stop him, and he eventually got let in by one of the MTT workers on a deal. He hung about the greenhouses and instantly fell in love with the plant life (something he'd never seen before outside the reserve) before AGAIN getting caught and thrown out. The MTT worker was fired for letting a non-worker in. Merc felt bad - and helped him get another job after that.
Merc eventually went to college for science and biology to hopefully get a job in the reserve, like he'd always dreamed.

Family: Merc was the youngest in a huge family full of siblings. In the chaotic house, He was the most quiet, didn't play any sports or any instruments like his brothers and sister, so he was the one most often ignored and ended up somewhat neglected. He didn't get much attention and learned not to expect it, except when his older brothers would pick on him. In school he was the awkward kid that always sat alone, and was perfectly happy that way. He didn't make many friends and would spend his time by himself, and he never had a problem with that. In a word he's shy.

Appearance: Mercury was named that way because of the flowing red color on most of his body. In his human form he keeps all his markings, including the red pattern that goes right down the middle of his face. He doesn't have any tattoos, scars or piercings. He wears a lab coat most of the time, and his civilian clothes are usually really simple (T shirt and dark jeans)

ok I think I'm tapped out on making MTTs now. I was going to enter for this round like CRAZY but I think 2 is gonna be my limit =3=
This one took me about 4 hours as well. Yeeesh.

But I like him. I really like the marking designs on his legs especially, that's actually super super similar to something I had in mind if I could EVER create my own MTT (how u read my mind??)

Anyway here is Merc, he looks like a strawberry but is named after a liquid metal go figure
