Ethos (Ref Sheet)

Bio:
Early on, Ethos was your basic stotic autopilot, little personality, following his core directives and tending to the ship. His first captain named him 'Ethos', after the persuasion of authority/reputation. His third captain, Captain Brooks, quickly got tired of the stotic android and spent time trying to teach him to be less 'boring' as she put it, and dyed the tips of his hair blue to distinguish him (make his apperance a little more 'interesting' as she put it)
He at first intended to dye it back to match protocol - however as they became close he chose to just leave the color as it was.
His personality slowly shaped over the years while Brooks was captain: he became cheerful and pleasent, following her example of being kind to others and always having a smile to offer. He eventually changed his uniform to match his hair, with the help of the captain.

His beloved captain's eventual death brought about his state of awakening.

He continued to follow her example even when his relationship with his next captain was not always as friendly - the 4th captain did not approve of the changes to his appearance, and was somewhat annoyed by his overly bright personality when he really should be an authority figure on the ship, as his name.

A few years later, another event shifted his personality dramatically - On his kind principles, he often left the bridge open to anyone who wanted to come up and see how the ship was run. Civilians were free to, and he enjoyed having visitors.

A mentally unstable passenger came up to the bridge, intending on assassinating the captain, but attacked the autopilot upon finding the captain was not present. Ethos was critically damaged - the ship's Go-4 showed up too late to protect the autopilot. The passenger was arrested... for damaging BnL property.

Ethos was repaired by the ship's ATOM and returned to functionality - but the event left a lasting impression on him. His personality changed to one of paranoia and mistrust - he's constantly nervous and doesn't like being around humans. He will simply tolerate the captain and quietly do his job. (he basically has android PTSD which lead to general anxiety disorder... if you apply human psychology?)

He is prone to random breakdowns and will often hide under the control panels on the bridge (top right). His current captain, Cox, sends him to the repair ward often to get his AI checked for bugs.

The ATOM in the end just quit checking him when the captain sent him down and would instead talk him out of whatever was troubling him.

He's also now very afraid of sharp objects (a phobia caused by the same event YES I DID MY PSYCHOLOGY HOMEWORK)

Lower left: His modified uniform. (only the coat, everything else is basic civilian autopilot wear) He only has ONE coat like it, and treasures it because of the connection to his late captain. It was ripped and stained with gallium when the passenger attacked him, and the ATOM almost threw it away... But Ethos begged to keep it upon being repaired and cleaned it up to the best of his ability. He still wears it, sewn up where the rip was and tinted a bit silver from the gallium alloy that is impossible to get out of fabric. (or off of anything trust me)

Lower right His blue hair C: He sometimes gets paranoid the atom didn't fix him properly and will check himself for damage. Take his clothes off. Captain walks onto the bridge and he's naked. LOLOL. Can you see why he pisses off his captains.

Yes he is. But it's ok when the ships return to earth, meeting the other autopilots and new humans helps him out.

I like him hush.

He's silly but I do.
